In India, there are approximately 5,000 MBA colleges. One can select an MBA college based on their interest in a specific MBA specialisation, location, fees, infrastructure, placements, and entrance exam scores. Most top-ranked and Tier-1 MBA programmes are difficult to get into due to their stringent admissions criteria. They select the best of the best, so passing the CAT or GMAT with high marks is essential.

Admission to a Tier-2 or Tier-3 MBA programme, on the other hand, is much easier. Their admission cut-offs are lower than those of the IIMs, XLRI, MDI, SPJIMR, FMS, IMT, and other prestigious institutions. Check out the top MBA colleges by location and entrance exams in the section below:

FAQ'S

Question: Does getting an easy question right away on the GMAT indicate that the preceding one was answered incorrectly?

Answer: Not to worry. One of the test questions may have come up for you. Additionally, the GMAT’s algorithm is more sophisticated than we realise and does not operate in a straightforward, linear manner. Therefore, even if you are answering the questions correctly, it is theoretically feasible for you to run upon an easy question. Finally, keep in mind that the term “easy” is a relative one; what you may find simple may not be simple to others. Therefore, focus on the future questions rather than wasting time on these throughout the test.

Question: Do all GMAT questions count or are they all scored?

Answer: No. The remaining 20%–30% are experimental questions, which have no bearing on your score and are intended to help GMAC assess test questions for the future.

Question: How do I send my GMAT scores to schools?

Answer: You will have the option to choose up to five institutions that will automatically get your GMAT score roughly 20–30 days after you take the exam before or after the test. Additional score reports can be requested, but they will cost you $28. Some candidates want to wait until they are certain they obtained a decent score before sending any reports to any schools, thus they will buy more reports once they receive the score confirmation.

Question: What documents should I bring with me on exam day?

Answer: If you are a non-US applicant, you must have both an appointment confirmation letter or email from Pearson VUE in addition to a VALID passport with a current, recognisable photo.

Question: Is there any penalty for not completing a section in GMAT?

Answer: Yes. If you run out of time and are unable to finish the section, the GMAT will penalise you. As a result, it’s crucial to concentrate on the test’s time management components. Only with practise will you be able to master this.

Question: What is tested in GMAT?

Answer: Composing ability, knowledge of grammar standards, logical thinking, reading comprehension, and systematic skills. Basic Math (Arithmetic, Algebra, Word Problems, and Geometry) and a little Transitional Math (Statistics, Probability, Combinations/Permutations).

Question: Are all GMAT questions scored/do all GMAT questions check?

Answer: No. About 20%–30% of the questions are “trial” answers that have no bearing on your score and are there to help GMAC evaluate test questions in the future.

Question: How does GMAT scoring work? How is the score calculated?

Answer: There are a few theories as to how the test is graded: some believe that the first 15 questions are fundamental; others believe that challenging questions must be correctly answered to receive a respectable score; and still another group believes that all questions must be explained in order to receive a high score.

Question: Can I scratch-off or reschedule a GMAT schedule?

Answer: There is a $50 rescheduling fee if you do it more than seven days in advance, which many people do. In the unlikely event that you opt to reschedule with less than 7 days to go, you will forfeit the $250 shop. As long as your schedule is more than seven days away, you can also ask for a discount. In either case, you will only receive $80 back. All things considered, if you experienced acute anxiousness a few days prior to the test and feel that you need to reschedule, it would be worthwhile to go ahead and take the test since you won’t be reimbursed any money. There are certain theories regarding getting a bad grade on your report, but more

Question: How many times can one take the GMAT?

Answer: The GMAT® exam may only be taken once every 16 calendar days, five times in a rolling 12-month period, and a maximum of eight times overall (lifetime limit effective December 17, 2016).

Question: Can I use a calculator?

Answer: The use of a calculator is not allowed during the Integrated Reasoning portion, but you will have access to an online calculator with all the necessary features.

Question: Will I be offered anything to write amidst the exam?

Answer: At the start of the test, you will receive 5 dry-erase note boards, and you can request additional as the test progresses. Towards the end of the exam, these must be returned to the manager. No written work products of yours may be brought into the testing area.

Question: My GMAT score isn’t good enough. How soon might I take the test again?

Answer: The test can only be taken once every 16 calendar days. If you try to take the test before that time has gone, your new scores won’t be taken into account, and you lose your test administration fee.

Question: Will business colleges be able to access all of my test results if I take the exam more than once?

Answer: They really will. The majority of your GMAT scores from the past five GMAT attempts will be listed in your score report. Your results are impressive for a long time.

Question: What is the normal GMAT score?

Answer: The typical GMAT score is between 200 and 800. The average GMAT score among all test-takers is 540. 66% of exam takers received scores between 400 and 600.

Question: What is a good GMAT score?

Answer: Having a “good” GMAT score only matters in terms of the MBA or master’s projects you are applying for! You should research the institutions to whom you must submit your scores and make realistic goals for yourself in light of the typical scores that are accepted by those initiatives. Top-tier colleges will often look for a score in the 90th percentile or higher (eg Wharton has a normal GMAT score of 713; Harvard 708; INSEAD 702; and London Business School 680).

Question: Are GMAT scores the only factor considered for university admission?

Answer: GMAT scores do not entirely determine admission to universities. The GMAT scores are given about 22% of the total weight during the university admissions process. In addition, the candidate’s profile is a key factor in determining whether they are admitted to a university.

Question: Do business institutions require a minimum GMAT score?

Answer: The majority of institutions will share the average GMAT score of its understudies, but few will set a minimum requirement for GMAT scores. This information is typically readily available on school websites, so do your research to find the average scores for the institutions you plan to apply to, and then aim for at least that score.

Question: How can I cancel my test date?

Answer: The framework for booking test schedules can be used for this. You will receive a partial discount of US$80 if you cancel at least 7 full days before your scheduled departure. In the unlikely event that you cancel less than 7 full days before your scheduled departure, you will forfeit your whole enrollment fee.

Question: Would I be eligible to request more time on the GMAT if I had a disability or dyslexia?

Answer: Indeed. Test takers with documented disabilities, such as dyslexia, can ask for special testing accommodations for the GMAT. Housing may include additional exam time, additional rest intervals, a mediator who facilitates communication through gestures, a reader or record keeper, and so forth. You should download both the GMAT Information Bulletin and the Supplement for Test Takers for Disabilities from www.mba.com to get the full details on how to apply for unusual testing facilities. Please be advised that you should submit your applications in advance because decisions about unusual facilities might take anywhere from six to two months to make.

Question: How to prepare for GMAT Exam?

Answer: Answering this question is challenging because everyone should prepare in a way that works best for them. Many GMAT exam takers use the various ‘GMAT test prep’ groups available to plan over a period of three to five years. Others purchase resigned test questions or real GMAC productions and prepare as much as is conceivable. Select the approach that works best for you.

Question: How does my GMAT score get determined?

Answer: Members receive a score between 200 and 800 on the overall GMAT, which is calculated using the Quantitative and Verbal sections. Higher scores indicate a more noticeable ability. However, business schools also receive the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA) scores of MBA candidates, which range from 1 to 6, a score for the Integrated Reasoning section, which ranges from 1 to 8, and also breakdowns of the Verbal and Quantitative scores, which both fall between 0 and 60.

Question: Can I switch from registering for the GMAT at the test centre to the GMAT online?

Answer: The GMAT you take in person cannot be transferred to the GMAT you take online. It is preferable to cancel your GMAT at exam centre appointment and reschedule the GMAT online exam because GMAC eliminated cancellation costs as a result of pandemics. The reimbursement will be processed within 3 to 4 business days.
