Delhi University

Delhi University is one of the premier university of the country using a respected heritage and international applaud for the highest academic standards, diverse educational programs, distinguished faculty, illustrious alumni, varied co-curricular activities, along with modern infrastructure. Over the years of its existence, the University has lasted the highest worldwide standards and best practices in higher education. Launched in 1922 as a unitary, schooling, and residential University from the then Central Legislative Assembly, a substantial commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and societal outreach has made the University a role-model and trendsetter for different universities. The President of India is that the Visitor, the Vice-President is that the Chancellor, and the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of India is the Pro-Chancellor of this University.

With three colleges and 750 pupils, it’s grown among India’s largest universities using 16 faculties, over 80 academic departments, an equivalent number of colleges, and more than seven lakh pupils. Over 500 applications offered by this University are approved by Academic and Executive Councils, out of which 209 applications are being contemplated for NAAC accreditation purposes.

The remainder being run in colleges are separately accredited. Drawing students and faculty from across India and overseas, the University has emerged as a symbol of excellence, ethics, and openness of Mansa (believed ), Vacha (language ), along with Karmann (activity ). Sir Maurice Gwyer, the afterward Vice-Chancellor, realizing the importance of a distinguished faculty to act as role models, relentlessly searched for talent all over the Nation and roped in males of eminence to the University, for example, Prof. D.S. Kothari in Physics, Prof. T.R. Sheshadri at Chemistry, Prof. P Maheshwari at Botany, and Prof. M L Bhatia in Zoology. Five Departments, namely Chemistry, Geology, Zoology, Sociology, and History, have now been awarded the Centres of Advanced Studies’ status.

These Centres of Advanced Studies have carved a niche for themselves as centers of excellence in teaching and research in their respective places. Furthermore, many university departments are also getting grants under the Special Assistance Programmed of the UGC in recognition of the exceptional academic work.
